A Vision to Remember

We Create* and its fashion designers are participating in the A Vision to Remember event.

A Vision to Remember is a charity fashion show that is to be held on the 17th may 2010, at Bar Risa, Broad Street, Birmingham in aid of the Vision Charity.

The Vision Charity raises money through offering outstanding events. The charity was incorporated in 1977, since then it has obtained a board of trustees and patrons.  With the money that is raised the Vision charity allocates the funds to their range of beneficiaries, ultimately the Vision Charity aims to offer outstanding events and ensure funds are shared wisely.

The event is being held in order to raise money that shall go to one of the Vision Charity's beneficiaries that is the local Queen Alexandra College in Birmingham.  The money raised on the night will go towards helping those who are blind or visually impaired in terms of new equipment to aid studying at the college.

The event will consist of a charity fashion show that will showcase local fashion design talent from the West Midlands.  This gives the local designers a chance to show their work at a well known venue, in central Birmingham and hopefully give the designers a platform to get their work seen and appreciated by a wider audience.

Also, the event is lucky enough to have the vocal styling of Eilidh Forster, along side Maddison's Dance Academy who will be performing on the night who will be entertaining and setting the mood for the audience!

A Vision to Remember are looking for various volunteers to help out at the event which include:

Volunteers - unpaid workers to help out backstage and front of house at the event.

Models - both male and female models who are able to showcase the designers collections in the desired way.

Designers - local designer's that would like to show their collection at the show.

Stylists - those who are able to work under pressure backstage at the event, to aid the models and designers to get them prepared for the show.

Make-up/Hair Stylists - talented individuals that would like the opportunity to create the hair and makeup styling at the event.

If you would like to help out at the A Vision to Remember event please contact - Annie_marston@hotmail.com

The Big Brum Charity Catwalk is about a multicultural and vibrant Birmingham - they want to capture the essence of Birmingham and is the first annual charity catwalk event.  BBCC want do something good and to give back to local community.  For BBCC's debut show, they are raising money for Birmingham Children’s Hospital - 'The Red Balloon Appeal’ (Registered Charity Number: 1074850).

Everyone involved in producing and participating in the BBCC show will be unpaid volunteers.

BBCC say

It’s going to a MASSIVE charity event taking place on Bank Holiday Sunday 2nd May, at the Birmingham Conservatoire (next to Central Library) from midday until 9.30pm in the evening.

The fundraiser is all in aid of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and it’s a lot do with putting a spotlight on a multicultural and vibrant Birmingham

On the day, you’ll be entertained with showgirls, pampered at the Beauty Hall and treating yourself to a spot of retail therapy at the Fashion Hall.  Here fashion stylists can advise you on What’s Hot & What’s Not this season…We’re even thinking about a Wardrobe Swap Shop so watch this space. To top it all off, there will be Fashion Catwalk & Auction from 6.30pm onwards. There are limited places available for this- tickets will be available at Bar Risa (Broad St) in April.

And if fashion isn’t your bag- there’ll also be a Jobs Fair to help those seeking employment or get advice.  Aside from the Catwalk show, all areas are free entry to the public.

As the second largest city - Birmingham seems to lack a lot of the creative opportunities that other cities hold - especially for young people.  Here we’re creating our own opportunity in this event - supporting students, young graduates, local businesses and the local community, whilst fundraising for a fantastic local charity- the BCH.

It’s not just fashion designers and models that we’re after …

*Corporate sponsorships for companies are available
*Local boutiques can showcase their collections on the Catwalk
*Traders are wanted for both the Fashion & Beauty Halls
* Local employers can also take a stand at the Jobs Fair

This all-day event will help bring the local community and local businesses together- everyone involved in participating and producing the show are unpaid volunteers pooling their skills together for a worthy cause.
