VAGRANT is a label developed by participants of We Create* - a Training and Design Management Agency that offers individuals from disadvantaged and socially excluded backgrounds the opportunity to gain qualifications and commercial experience in Fashion Design.

The Training Agency offers access to a 12-week Level One Fashion Design and its Commercial Development course and a 1-year Level Two Fashion Design and its Commercial Development: Personal Study Programme. Away from contact time, participants have access to an online training resource and community 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with a range of online content, video tutorials, and downloadable PDFs. The Level One course guides participants through all the process involved in the Design, Production, Promotion, and Retail of fashion-based products. The Level Two Personal Study Programme allows graduates of Level One to further develop the skills gained by designing and developing their own clothing brands and additional commercial projects. Alongside the general online course material is a range of video presentations and interviews with individuals working in the fashion industry, giving a valuable insight into the sector. The organisation also develops opportunities for participants to gain work experience and placements within head offices of fashion retailers and labels across the United Kingdom.

The Level One course outcome sees participants collectively design a range of VAGRANT branded merchandise to be sold to raise awareness and funds to help run We Create* and also offer valuable commercial exposure for the individuals producing the designs. The VAGRANT brand was initially designed and developed by Big Issue vendors in Leeds and Birmingham on We Create*'s pilot courses.
